Intergenerational Certificate Training
Developed by Vicki Rosebrook, PhD, Executive Director of the Macklin Intergenerational Institute, the training certifies successful participants as Intergenerational Guides who are equipped to build an outstanding intergenerational program modeled after the Macklin Intergenerational Institute. Participants taking this journey will discover the importance of relationships that cross generations, and the “how to’s” of facilitating multi-age relationships. If you have the desire to make an impact on the lives of individuals across the lifespan, this may be the most important journey you’ll ever take.
Xtreme Aging Training
The Macklin Intergenerational Institute's Xtreme Aging workshop is interactive and experiential. Participants will be able to identify and challenge common myths about aging, take part in a simulated experience as an Elder, and develop a plan of action to build better relationships with the elderly.
Statistics indicate that people are living longer, healthier lives. That, coupled with the well publicized fact that the Baby-Boomer generation is beginning to retire and will swell the ranks of the elderly to the highest levels in the history of the United States should be an important revelation to those in the "People" business. In the recent years ahead, the elderly will have an increasing impact on the economy with their available time and purchasing power. In order to identify the true needs of the elderly and to be effective in service to them, better understanding and skills are vital.

Eden Apprentice
Eden Apprentice Training is a collaboration between the Macklin Intergenerational Institute and Eden at Home, an initiative of the Eden Alternative™. The training is an interactive learning experience that introduces young people, ages 11 to 18 years to the Eden Alternative principles, with an eye toward seeing care and Elderhood in a new light. The ultimate goal of this training is to empower Youth participants to become Change Agents at the grassroots level. Living by example, they have the opportunity to play a crucial role in shifting the culture of care and perspectives on aging in our communities. We offer 1 ½-day Trainer Certification Workshops that empower Certified Apprentice Trainers to offer Eden Apprentice Training in their communities. Organizations that may wish to have a Certified Eden Apprentice Trainer on staff include school districts, private schools, youth organizations, faith-based organizations, Area Agencies on Aging,, community organizations, senior centers, and long-term care organizations interested in building alliances within the larger community.
